Quick Config

The Quick Config tab on a published agent's page is the fastest way to change a setting and publish it. It lists the agent's settings on one page, shows which differ from the live version, and publishes the changes as a new version. For writing instructions, testing and IQ, use the full editor instead.

Quick Config and the full editor work on the same draft. A change made in one shows up in the other.

Before You Start

  • Role: Admin or Organisation Admin. See Roles and Permissions.
  • A published agent. Drafts open in the builder or the editor instead, and have no agent page yet.

Changing a Setting

  1. Open Agents and select the agent.
  2. Select the Quick Config tab.
  3. Find the setting. Scroll, use the section list, or type in Find a setting.
  4. Change the value. Changed settings are marked Changed.
  5. The draft saves a moment after you stop typing. To save straight away, select Save Draft.
  6. When ready, select Publish Version followed by the next version number. See Publishing and Versions.

Finding Settings

The filter beside the search box narrows the list:

  • All shows every setting.
  • Changed From Live shows only settings that differ from the live version.
  • Required shows the settings the agent needs to run.

If nothing matches, select Show All Settings to clear the search and filter.

What Is on the Page

The same sections as the full editor, including Tools and Advanced settings. The system prompt appears as one box. Select Open Editor on it for a full-page view with the live version beside the draft, and Show Changes to highlight what differs.

For tools, see Tools and Knowledge.

The Version Strip

The strip at the top shows Live · Version and the live version number, and whether there is a Draft and which version it is based on.

  • Compare shows the draft side by side with the live version.
  • History opens every published version. See Publishing and Versions.

The Save Bar

The bar at the bottom shows the state of the draft:

MessageMeaning
Not saved yetThere are edits that have not saved yet
Draft saved with a timeThe draft is saved
N settings differ from version NHow far the draft is from the live version
Matches version NThe draft and the live version are the same
publishing applies to the next call to a numberThe agent is answering calls, so publishing affects the next call to that number

Its actions:

  • Discard throws away edits that have not saved yet.
  • Compare With Live opens a side-by-side comparison.
  • Discard Draft deletes the whole draft and puts every setting back to the live version.
  • Try In Playground opens the playground to test the draft.
  • Publish Version publishes the draft.

Discarding the Draft

Select Discard Draft, then Discard Draft again in "Discard The Draft?". This removes the shared draft for everyone, including changes other people have made. Version history is not affected. Select Keep Draft to cancel.

When the Save Bar Needs Attention

A setting is invalid. Publish Version is unavailable and its tooltip reads "Fix the highlighted settings first". Select Jump To It to go to the setting.

Someone else saved the draft. The bar shows who saved it, for example "Sam Lee saved the draft after you started", or "An MCP client saved the draft after you started" when an AI app made the change. Your edits are still on screen but have not saved. Choose:

  • Compare to see your edits against theirs
  • Reload Draft to take their version and drop your unsaved edits
  • Overwrite to save your edits over theirs

Publishing failed. The bar reads "Couldn't publish" and says which version is still live. Your draft is kept. Select Details to see why, or Retry.

Opening the Full Editor

Select Open full editor at the top of the tab. Save or discard any unsaved edits first, or a message asks you to: "You have unsaved changes. Save or discard them before opening the full editor."
