Preferences

Preferences control how the workspace sounds and behaves for you: which headset it uses, how it tells you about new contacts, and whether it changes your status on its own. They are personal. Changing them doesn't affect anyone else, and they're saved in the browser you set them in, so set them again if you move to another computer or browser.

Opening Preferences

  1. Select your profile picture in the header.
  2. Select Preferences.

The Preferences panel opens on the right. Changes apply straight away; there's no save button.

Audio

  • Call / Chat Ringtone: the sound played for incoming contacts. Select the play button to hear it first. A new ringtone applies from the next incoming contact.
  • Ringtone volume: how loud the ringtone plays, shown as a percentage.

Audio Devices

  • Speaker: where you hear the caller.
  • Microphone: what the caller hears you through.
  • Ringer: where the ringtone plays.

Each list starts with System default, which follows your computer's sound settings. The lists stay unavailable while the workspace is connecting. If the browser can't provide a device list, a message appears under the lists instead, for example "This browser does not expose audio device selection." Close and reopen Preferences to try again, or use another browser if the message stays.

Call Handling

Auto-accept incoming tasks accepts every new call, chat and task as soon as it's offered to you, so you don't need to select Accept. Calls connect straight to your headset, so only turn this on when you're ready to talk the moment a contact arrives.

Status

Default Status

Default status sets your status each time the workspace connects, for example when you sign in or reload the page. Choose No default status to keep whatever status you had last. You can still change your status from the header at any time.

Auto-Away

Auto-away after idle minutes switches you to an away status after that many minutes with no mouse or keyboard activity in the workspace. Enter 0 to turn it off. It uses a status with "Away" in its name, or Offline when there isn't one.

Auto-away doesn't switch you back. When you return, set your status again from the header.

Long calls can count as idle

Talking on a call isn't activity in the workspace. On a call longer than your auto-away time with no clicks or typing, you're switched to away, and no new contacts are offered to you until you change your status back.

Notifications

  • Desktop notifications: shows a browser notification when a contact is offered to you, which helps when the workspace is in a background tab. The browser asks for permission the first time you turn it on. If you've blocked notifications for the site, the toggle is unavailable and shows "Notifications are blocked in your browser settings." Allow notifications in your browser's site settings, then turn it on.
  • Incoming sound: plays your ringtone while a contact is waiting. Turn it off to rely on the card and desktop notifications only.
