Switching and Managing Environments

All environment work happens in the environment switcher at the top of the Agentic sub navigation. It shows which environment is open, moves between environments, and holds the edit and delete actions for each one. Knowing which environment is open matters, because agents, sessions and settings all belong to one environment at a time.

Before You Start

  • You need the Admin or Organisation Admin role. Both can switch, edit and delete environments.

Reading the Switcher

The switcher shows the open environment's name, with its type underneath, for example "Clinics" and "Production environment". A coloured dot beside the name repeats the type, and a Production environment is highlighted, so it is clear at a glance when changes will reach customers. Hovering over the switcher shows the full name and type.

Opening the switcher lists every environment in the organisation with a Sandbox, UAT or Production badge. A tick marks the one that is open.

Switching Environments

  1. Open the environment switcher.
  2. Select the environment to move to.

Where you land depends on where you were:

  • In Settings, you stay on the same settings page in the new environment. Comparing a setting across two environments is a common reason to switch, so this keeps your place.
  • Anywhere else, such as an agent or a session, you land on the new environment's Agents page. An agent belongs to one environment, so it has no counterpart to open in another.

Agentic remembers the last environment you opened. Selecting Agentic in the sidebar later returns you to it.

Editing an Environment

The name, type and description can all be changed after an environment is created.

  1. Open the environment switcher.
  2. Select the pencil icon (Edit) beside the environment.
  3. In Edit Environment, change the Name, Type or Description.
  4. Select Save.

"Environment updated successfully." confirms the change. The name must stay unique in the organisation. Changing the type only changes the label and how the environment is shown. Its agents, phone numbers and settings stay exactly as they were.

Deleting an Environment

  1. Open the environment switcher.
  2. Select the bin icon (Delete) beside the environment.
  3. In Are You Sure?, check the environment name in "Confirm you want to delete this environment", then select Delete.

"Environment deleted successfully." confirms it. The environment disappears from the switcher, and its agents, sessions and settings can no longer be opened from the Admin app. If you deleted the environment you were in, Agentic moves you to another environment, or back to the landing page if none are left.

Check what is live before deleting

There is no undo. Before deleting an environment, open its Agents page and check whether any agent is published, has a phone number, or is used by your own systems. Move that work to another environment first.
